Yes, Lee, Please bring your trumpet and play for us. That would make the night really special…Maybe Ralph could play his trombone too with you. I just know you’re wanting me to play my clarinet!!!! Thanks for asking??? Too bad…sold it many yrs. ago. Probably couldn’t make a sound, but thanks for wanting me to play…LOL

Lee, Thanks for answering…What kind of heart problem does Karen have? I didn’t know that was Ross’s problem. I thought I saw a long time ago that Karen had remarried and moved away. Is she married? I would love to get in touch with her. I don’t know if she is reading the reunion news or not. If you have an email address, FB page, etc. please send to me. Yes, you are very blessed to be going strong. If ever down this way, please call. Would love to have you and wife come by.

Yes the heart problem ran in side of the family. her sister died at a young age and her sisters child died on the playgroung at school at about 9 yrs old. Ross had a very weak heart that was giving out on him and he was waiting on a heart transplant from unc chapel when
he passed away. he was only 35. Karen has the same problem. She
did get remarried and moved to California but it only lasted about a year or less. She does not have a computer. She is limited to only doing a few things each day and she has to rest. Her heart is just getting weaker all the time. I last saw her at Thanksgiving last year
in Charlotte at Chris(my oldest son) house. My sister talks to her
some i will see if i can get her phone number for you.

Roy Lee, thanks for you message on my page. I guess it has been 45 years since we had a night to talk. I remember you played the best trumpet I ever heard. Along with the night Ralph Cooke fell off the consert band stage backwards holding that constellation trombone high over his head there are very few memories of my brief and unaccomplished trumpet career in the concert band. Except, of course, that night Daphne was playing first clarinet and had recently told me that Perry Reece was the guy she truly loved. I look forward to hearing ALL your story. It might be interesting to post that on your page. Have a few drinks one night and put it on paper and on this page.
You and I know that we belong to club no one wants to belong to, we have buried our children. I look forward to seeing you in April. That white hair description may have to be a little more specific as that may not be enough to idenitify you in a line-up. We had some interesting and unbelievable times.

Oh, Lee I am so sorry to hear about your son, Ross..Do you still live in Winston? We moved to Myrtle Beach about three yrs. ago and love it. I probably won’t make it to the reunion, as we have two new granddaughters due, April 20 and May 11..Our daughter’s second girl and our son’s first girl, along with his two sons. Grammy and Pop will be busy. Sure hate to miss seeing everyone. Thanks for sending me a note.
