Hey Deane, I apologize for that last comment. Obviously, it was meant for Danny Hayes. Bob Sloop

Deane, I saw your comment on your brother’s page about the ‘68 football team and couldn’t agree more. It was the greatest group of individuals making up a team that I have ever been around. I really didn’t realize or appreciate what I was part of until later in life when I couldn’t take winning for granted. The only other comment I have is to remember those players that had to scrimmage against the first team defense every day in practice. For me, it seems like I must have had the ball in my hands 90% of the time against you guys and you were all trying to kill me. If you remember Coach Charles and Coach Hooper, you know running away was not an option. I would like to recognize the second team for what they did:
Billy Harris
Bobby Sloop
Mike Hinson
James (JJ) Joines
Ricky Swaim
Ed Carson
Paul Chatham
Vestal Thompson
John Callaway
Johnny Collins
Gavin Harrell
Billy Hinson
Barry Swaim
Laddy Thompson
Steve Jones
Forgive me if I missed anyone. It was a long time ago.

Dino, you look great. I’m sorry we didn’t get to play longer together at EHS. While I still think I was a better receiver than you. I had more dramatic flare and I made it look harder. You were a much better all around athlete and one hellofa defensive player. We should have had a few more fist fights on the practice field just to spice things up. Your big Brother, Dano
